History Valombola Vocational Training Centre

Valombola Vocational Training Centre was established in 1979 in Oshana Region. The Consolidated Diamond Mine (CDM) opted to build a vocational school for the community of former Owambo as a token of appreciation, for their involvement and commitment at the Diamond Mine. Headman Valombola Kalomho, donated land for the building of the school. The school was therefore named after him, “Valombola Technical Institute” (as it was called by then). The 1979 intake consisted of 51 male trainees in 5 trades. To date, Valombola VTC has 11 trades with the average of approximately 400 new intakes per year that includes both males and females. Currently Valombola VTC runs one income generating project: Oshakati Guest Hotel.
