Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for the above-mentioned position to be based in Keetmanshoop. This position will report to the Team Leader responsible for the area.
Key Performance Areas include, but are not limited to:
- Call on formal on- and off consumption outlets
- Selling and promoting the Company’s portfolio of products
- Achieve distribution, forward share and promotional targets for the area
- Implement the market segmentation policy
- Control and correct use of ROI and POS material
- Execute all promotions in line with national/ regional plan
- Maintain budget and other administrative functions
- Deliver effective and efficient merchandising service
- Take responsibility for own and team objectives, incorporating the Distell values
- Establish winning trading relationships
- Driving innovation and continuous improvement
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, both internally and externally
- Support the Team Leader as and when required
Preferable qualifications / experience/ skills:
- Minimum qualification of Grade 12
- Formal tertiary qualification in Sales and Marketing will be advantageous
- 2-3 years sales and promotional experience, preferably in the FMCG environment
- Computer literacy (MS Office package)
- A valid driver’s licence (Code B/BE)
- Excellent communication skills that include strong negotiation and presentation skills, with a good networking ability
- Self-starter with highly motivated nature
- Strong decision-making and problem solving abilities
- Entrepreneurial attitude with excellent business skills and sound judgement
- Adaptable to change
- Understanding of organisation’s systems, structures, policies and procedures
- Must be fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans; proficiency in another local language being advantageous
- High energy levels as the position involves working long, flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends and public holidays as and when required
