What is Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Food Science & Technology) Honours?

The Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, usually abbreviated as either B.Sc.(Agr.) or B.S.A. or B.Sc.(Ag.) or B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag. is the first undergraduate degree awarded by university faculty of agriculture and agricultural colleges. The program is 4 years of study above Grade 12 High School graduation.

Entry Requirement:

The normal basic requirement for entrance to Degree programmes shall be a Namibian Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary Level (NSSC O-Level) or a recognized equivalent, provided that a candidate has passed five subjects with a minimum of 25 points on the UNAM Evaluation Point Scale. iii)  At least a “D” symbol or better in Physical Science, Chemistry or Physics; and

v) Candidates with a three-year Diploma in Agriculture, Forestry, Natural Resources or Fisheries and Marine/Aquatic Sciences from a recognized and accredited institution may be granted admission to the Faculty’s undergraduate degree programmes. Such candidates may be exempted from certain modules in the degree programme provided that equivalent modules were completed with a pass mark of 60% of higher.
