Namibia Evangelical Theological Seminary (NETS)'s Statement of Faith
Namibia Evangelical Theological Seminary (NETS)’s Statement of Faith
We believe that the Holy Scriptures as originally given are divinely inspired, infallible and entirely trustworthy in all that they teach; and are the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Pet 1:21; 2 Tim 3:16‑17; Mt 5:18)
—
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons ‑ Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deut 6:4‑6; Mt 28:19; 2 Cor 13:14)
—
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His mediatorial work and His personal return in power and glory. (Lk1:35; 24:39; Col 1:14‑17; 2 Cor 5:21; Heb 7:25‑26; Acts 1:11)
—
We believe that God created man in His own image, that man sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of death, both physical and spiritual, and that all human beings inherit a sinful nature. (Gen 1:26‑27; 3:19; Rom 5:12; Jer 17:9)
—
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood, and are regenerated by the Holy Spirit, thereby becoming children of God. (Eph 1:7; Rom 4:5; Tit 3:5; Jn 1:12)
—
We believe in the Holy Spirit who convicts men of sin, regenerates them, baptizing them into the Body of Christ at their conversion, who seals, indwells and fills believers, producing in them the fruit of the Spirit, and who bestows power and gifts for service. (Jn 16:8‑9; 3:3,5; 1 Cor 12:13; Eph 4:30; 5:18; Gal 5:22‑33)
—
We believe that the universal Church is composed of all who have believed in Jesus Christ for their salvation and have thus been regenerated, and that this Church is the Body of Christ of which He is the Head. (1 Cor 12:13, Eph 1:22‑33)
—
We believe that Satan has a personal existence and is the arch‑enemy of God, and that he seeks to usurp the authority of God and to deceive mankind, and that he shall ultimately be cast into the lake of fire for eternity. (1 Jn 3:8; 1 Pet 5:8; Rev 20:2,10)
—
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead and the instantaneous change of the living at the end of this age. Believers shall then enter a state of everlasting blessedness and unbelievers a state of everlasting punishment. (Jn 5:28,29; 2 Cor 5:6‑8; 2 Thess 1:8,9)
