Diesel Mechanic

A vacancy exists for a Diesel Mechanic in the Support Equipment section of the Mining department. The successful incumbent will be responsible for delivering the right level of quality and effective maintenance and service to customers on the equipment in good time and at acceptable levels of cost and efficiency and in compliance with Rio Tinto health, safety and environmental standards.

Key performance areas

∙Maintaining health, safety and environmental standards.

∙Maintain repair, adjust and overhaul relevant equipment.

∙Installation of relevant equipment.

∙Breakdown repairs of relevant equipment.

∙On the job training.

∙Administration.

Minimum qualifications

∙Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science;

∙NTC II and Trade Theory (Diesel Mechanic);

∙Trade Diploma;

∙Three years’ experience including apprenticeship training;

∙Valid code BE driver’s licence; and

∙A valid code C driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
