SENIOR RELIABILITY TECHNICIAN

(1x Electrical, 1x Mechanical)

Location: Husab Mine, Swakopmund

Reports to Engineer Reliability

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment reliability through failure analysis, data collection and identification of changes to maintenance, operations, purchasing and design practices.

Key Performance Areas:

∙Implement reliability practices and objectives for improving equipment and process reliability;

∙Planning, review and report of Reliability Centred Maintenance actions on the Mine;

∙Review reliability objectives in allocated areas based on instructions, developed processes and other identified means;

∙Audit maintenance areas to monitor compliance with RCM tasks;

∙Ensure compliance to SU standard RCM key performance indicators and to meet internal reporting requirements and corrects deviations as required;

∙Maintain and update technical application procedures and documentation;

∙Guide, support and review reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls and safety/security systems;

∙Identify production losses and abnormally high maintenance cost with assets and consults with maintenance team leaders on potential solutions;

∙Develop objective plans to eliminate or reduce losses;

∙Adhere to best practice principle of the reliability processes throughout the entire life cycle of assets;

∙Provide technical support to production, maintenance and technical personnel;

∙Apply value analysis and high level quality control on repairs;

∙Establish and maintain effective communication channels and adhere to all Health, Safety and Environment regulations.

Requirements and experience:

∙N6 with a Trade Certificate in any field, OR National Diploma obtained through T3/S4 in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering.

∙Minimum 7 Years post apprenticeship experience as a Technician in the Mining industry, OR 3 years post apprenticeship experience as a Senior Technician in the Mining or Fabrication industry.

∙Specific experience require in the application of RCM/RCS/FMEA analysis; Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) applications; Condition Monitoring principles; OEM Equipment Management Systems (ET, VIMS, KOMTRAX, etc); SAP PM.

∙Understanding of equipment life cycle costing and evaluation.

∙Data evaluation and statistics experience (3 years Excel Proficiency).

∙Valid Code B/BE Driver’s licence.
