Advanced Training in Fire Fighting at Namfi

Advanced Training in Fire Fighting at Namfi

What is Advanced Training in Fire Fighting?

This five (5) days course provides training to control fire fighting operations aboard ship, and organized and train fire parties, inspects and train fire detection and extinguishing systems and equipment, and investigates and compiles reports on incidents involving fire.

Overview

Fire safety classes teach us about the devices that aid in fire prevention, the various processes that are involved in handling such fire disaster circumstances, and how to safely exit the building during a fire. This fire safety training helps in reducing the risks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best fire fighting technique?

This must be the most well-known technique for firefighting. Water is aimed at the base of the burning fire in order to suffocate the flames. Due to how this technique works, it’s best done by the use of a concentrated and powerful water jet that is capable of suffocating the flames.

What are the 3 methods of extinguishing a fire?

All fires can be extinguished by cooling, smothering, starving or by interrupting the combustion process to extinguish the fire. One of the most common methods of extinguishing a fire is by cooling with water.

What are the 3 elements of fire?

Oxygen, heat, and fuel are frequently referred to as the “fire triangle.” Add in the fourth element, the chemical reaction, and you actually have a fire “tetrahedron.” The important thing to remember is: take any of these four things away, and you will not have a fire or the fire will be extinguished.

What is starvation method in fire fighting?

Starvation is the process of depriving the fire of fuel, i.e. combustible materials. Cooling is depriving the fire of heat, e.g. by applying a substance such as water that will absorb heat from the fire and reduce the temperature below the critical level needed to sustain the fire.

What is the formula of fire?

Fire’s basic combustion equation is: fuel + oxygen —> carbon dioxide + water, a line many of us had drummed into us by school teachers. However, combustion reactions do not proceed directly from oxygen to carbon dioxide.

What is CO2 fire extinguisher?

CO2s are designed for Class B and C. (flammable liquid and electrical) fires only. Carbon dioxide extinguishes work by displacing oxygen, or taking away the oxygen element of the fire triangle. The carbon dioxide is also very cold as it comes out of the extinguisher, so it cools the fuel as well.

What is the basic chemistry of fire?

The diffusion flame process (fire) consists of three basic elements: fuel, oxygen, and heat.

What is fire training?

Fire safety training educates a set of practices & procedures to minimize the destruction caused by fire hazards. The skill & knowledge acquired through these trainings equip the learners, to combat fire in any unanticipated fire breakout.

What is the most common method of fire suppression?

The most common method of fire suppression is the lowering of the ignition temperature with large quantities of water.

What factors affect fire?

Fire is influenced by many factors, including geography, climate, weather, and topography.

What is fire hazard?

Any actions, materials, or conditions that might increase the size or severity of a fire or that might cause a fire to start are called fire hazards. The hazard might be a fuel that is easy to ignite or a heat source like a defective appliance.

Who invented the first fire?

Today, many scientists believe that the controlled use of fire was likely first achieved by an ancient human ancestor known as Homo erectus during the Early Stone Age.

Why is oxygen not used in fire extinguishers?

Most fire extinguishers work by separating the fuel from the oxygen. The oxygen comes from the air. It is the same oxygen we breathe. Since the oxygen has to be in contact with the fuel, if you can coat the fuel with something that keeps the oxygen away, the fire will go out.

What is fire technology?

Fire Technology is the study of the organization and function of fire prevention and suppression techniques; fire behavior, combustible materials, extinguishing agents, hazardous and toxic material; fire protection techniques and systems; and fire command and fire management (supervision).

Which powder is used in fire extinguisher?

ABC powder is made up of ammonium or mono-ammonium phosphate mixed with other powders to improve the flow or add bulk. ABC powder is often referred to as general purpose or multi-purpose extinguisher powder and is capable to fight class A, B and C fires.
