What is Master of Urban Design?
The Master of Urban Design develops professionals who can understand the city as possessing both spatial and temporal elements that interplay in a complex system, and who can design for contemporary challenges such as mass urbanisation and changing climate demands.
Entry Requirement
Applicants must be holders of either a Bachelor Honours degree in Architecture, Town and Regional Planning, Regional and Rural Development or Landscape Architecture, or an equivalent 4-year qualification with a studio-based and supervised research component at NQF level 8 (worth 480 NQF credits) from a recognised institution. Applicants must also provide evidence of a minimum of two years practical experience as candidate professionals after completing postgraduate studies. Candidates with a 4-year qualification and strong design education may be exempted from this requirement.
