NAMUSHASHA RIVER LODGE ACCOMMODATION

Namushasha River Lodge celebrates the wonders of the Zambezi water world with accommodation fit for a king. There’s a magic, a feeling or a charm that enraptures you in these northern realms. With elephants, hippos, myriad bird species, waterlilies and African bush, a visit to Namushasha provides an enriching adventure into Nature – to the accompaniment of the chiming of reed frogs, bird calls, hippo grunts and the soothing sound of a boat skimming through water. Namushasha’s impressive central entrance, designed in true African style with a wooden chandelier and carved animals, leads guests into the attractive lodge set between the trees. The dining room, with its high thatched roof, is open on the sides to the river world, providing a suitable – and airy – welcome to wonderland.

One of the captivating Caprivi lodges, Namushasha River Lodge offers guests a superlative choice of exciting activities: Stroll past the green-lawned campsite to the traditional heritage centre; hop aboard the river boats for early morning or late afternoon river cruises to explore the channels and discover the diverse bird life; or take a trip to the Bwabwata National Park, first by boat along the waterways to later transfer to a game vehicle for an excursion into African bush. At the end of the day, there’s nothing that can quite compare to a red Zambezi sunset. Whether teetotaller or not, you’ll want to have something cool and refreshing on hand to toast the day. Situated 24km south of Kongola on the C49 (D3501), Namushasha is the perfect stopover en route to Victoria Falls – or a grand destination in itself. Be enraptured.

Twin Room
The rooms are situated close to the river bank. Each room is equipped with a twin bed, mosquito net, en-suite bathroom and air-conditioning. For family rooms, please request rooms with interleading door

Triple Room
The rooms are situated close to the river bank. Each room is equipped with a twin bed and a single bed, mosquito net, en-suite bathroom and air-conditioning. For family rooms, please request rooms with interleading door

Family Room
The family room is an open plan room and has 4 single beds, an en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning and coffee/tea facilities.

ACTIVITIES

Halfday Game Drive into Bwabwata National ParkAn approximate 3 hour long game drive into the Bwabata National Park. Park entrance fees, short boat transfer, snacks and refreshments included. Departures at 8h00 in the morning and at 15h00 in the afternoon.

Morning/Afternoon Boat Cruise

Experience an unforgettable boat trip on the Kwando River. Refreshments and light snacks included. Departures at 8h00 in the morning and at 15h00 in the afternoon. Duration 3 hours.

Sunset Boat Cruise

Watch the sunset while enjoying a relaxing boat cruise on the Kwando River. Incl. refreshments and light snacks. Approximately 1.5 hours.

Fishing

Join a guided fishing trip and catch species such as catfish, tilapia, nembwe and tigerfish. 2 persons per boat. Boat and basic tackle and bait are included. A fishing license can be obtained from the Lodge but is not included in the rate. Lost lure at N$60 per lure, drinks on own account.

Please note: These activities are seasonal and depending on water level. All fishing is done on a catch and release basis.

Excursion to Namushasha Heritage Centre

History was made on the banks of the Kwando River in 2014 when the Gondwana Collection and Mashi community members opened the Namushasha Heritage Centre in a private sector-conservancy collaboration, celebrating the rich cultural diversity of the eastern Zambezi Region. For visits at the Namushasha Heritage Centre please enquire at the reception.

Children are most welcome at all our venues. Children up to 5 years old are free of charge; for children between the age of 6 and 13 years we charge 50 per cent of the B&B rate.
