RESPONSE TO NEW ERA NEWSPAPER ARTICLE “NSFAF KEEPS THOUSANDS WAITING….FUNDING FIASCO LEAVES 23,000 STUDENTS IN LIMBO”

NSFAF is inundated with queries emanating from the announcement of 2021 students’ loans awards, which was heightened by an article that appeared in the New Era newspaper of Wednesday, 02 June 2021.

NSFAF hereby acknowledges that indeed there is a delay in releasing the student loan award list for 2021. The delay is attributed to ongoing consultations with different stakeholders. The assertion, however, suggesting that there is a student funding fiasco in the country, and particularly at NSFAF, is devoid of any truth and intended to cause confusion, fear, and hopelessness in the minds of applicants and the general public. Such assertion should thus be condemned with the contempt it deserves.

NSFAF wishes to inform the applicants and general public to remain calm while we finalize stakeholder consultations. We anticipate announcing the award by 21 June 2021 if not earlier.
