What is Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Crop Science) Honours?
Crop Science is a four-year course under the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture program. The course includes basic agricultural courses such as soil science, genetics, plant breeding, plant physiology, cereals, and other elective subjects on plantation and ornamental crops.
Entry Requirement:
The normal basic requirement for entrance to Degree programmes shall be a Namibian Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary Level (NSSC O-Level) or a recognized equivalent, provided that a candidate has passed five subjects with a minimum of 25 points on the UNAM Evaluation Point Scale. The following minimum requirements will apply:
i) English with a “C” symbol or better at NSSC O-Level (English as a Second Language); and
ii) Mathematics and Biology with a “C” symbol or better at NSSC O-Level; and
iii) At least a “D” symbol in Physical Science, Chemistry or Physics; and
iv) Any fifth additional subject;
v) Candidates with a three-year Diploma in Agriculture, Forestry, Natural Resources or Fisheries and Marine/Aquatic Sciences from a recognized and accredited institution may be granted admission to the Faculty’s undergraduate degree programmes. Such candidates may be exempted from certain modules in the degree programme provided that equivalent modules were completed with a pass mark of 60% of higher.
