The Lodge
A place of mystery, wind-sculpted rock and far horizons…
Nestling in a timeless valley is the Vingerklip Lodge on the 3000 ha Farm ̈Bertram ̈
that is surrounded by a game fence helping us to protect and preserve the animals.
Our 1600 ha private reserve has 3 waterholes in various locations around
the lodge with the main water-hole being flood lit at night.
Various types of animals including Giraffe, Eland, Zebra, Kudus, Oryx,
Springbok, Impala, Warthogs,Baboons and Steenbok frequently visit the waterholes and are also
often spotted when following the walking trails.
ACTIVITIES
One of the most dramatic rock formations in Namibia is the 35m high pillar of rock, the Vingerklip or Finger of Stone. It stands proudly above a valley in the ancient landscape known as the Ugab terraces.
RESTAURANT
Fine wines, and refreshing, locally brewed beer is served complimenting our Gourmet cuisine and buffet in the spacious dining area.
LOUNGE AND BAR AREAS
A sheltered sundowner veranda offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and the unmatched splendour of a Namibian sunset.
SWIMMING POOLS & JACUZZI
The lodge offers 2 Swimming pools where guests can spend the lazy afternoons. For those who prefer a more luxurious and warmer form of relaxation, the Jacuzzi is open to guests at their convenience.
ROOMS
The 11 double unit thatched bungalows comprising 22 rooms with en suite bathrooms which are individually furnished and equiped to satify all travellers requirements. Each unit has a private terrace to complete the atmosphere of relaxation and tranquillity. Eight of the units offer loft accommodation for two children each.
Heavens Gate
Set on top of the Ugab Terraces is the heaven’s gate luxury bungalow.
With the well known Eagles Nest Restaurant nearby on the same terrace, a good night’s sleep including dinner and breakfast can now all be enjoyed high above the surrounding landscape whilst taking in the soothing silence and breathtaking views.
The bungalow was built with the idea of exclusivity and solitude, perfect for those who want to get away from it all.
Please note that this relaxing and exclusive accommodation is only accessible via a short mountain walkway and a 25m Metal staircase.
Walking the path up is not recommended for people with walking difficulties.
Eeagles Nest Restaurant
Eagles Nest Restaurant, high above the Lodge on the Ugab Terraces, is reachable within 10 minutes walking.
Guests have the option to exchange one of the dinners at the lodge for an unforgettabe Eagles Nest experience where traditional African cuisine is served at no extra charge.
Please note that the Eagles Nest Restaurant is limited to approximately 20 guests and booking is essential.
Walking the path up is not recommended for people with walking difficulties.
