Constructed on top of granite boulders, Sonop’s remote and unspoilt setting of 13,800 acres (5,600 hectares) of untouched wilderness includes daily sightings of desert animals, from Oryx, Brown Hyenas, Rabbits, Bat-eared Foxes, Meerkats, Jackals and Leopards.

Every object and antique in our ten spacious tents are carefully selected – binoculars and maps, travellers’ tales, telescopes, antique desks and handmade stationary – to ensure that every moment turns into a unique experience. The eight 1-bedroom tents offer a high standard of comfort, featuring one main bedroom and an en-suite bathroom. The roll-up canvas allow to admire the vast panorama.

TWO-BEDROOM TENTS

  •  4 adults + 2 children (6-12 years) guests
  •  75 sqm + exterior platform around tent sqm

The two 2-bedroom tents are particularly suitable for families. Facing out over the spectacularly beautiful desert, they offer two wide double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a shared living room.

EXPERIENCES

At Zannier Hotels Sonop, the majestic surroundings of the desert provide ample opportunities for relaxation and adventure. Breath-taking outdoor excursions are offered within the 5,600 ha of the private reserve, where oryxes, brown hyenas, rabbits, foxes, jackals, kudus and leopards roam free.

Guest can choose to wake-up with a desert yoga experience, where an experienced teacher will guide guests of all levels. At any time of the day, guests can decide to explore the desert by foot, electric bike, or horseback, accompanied by our experienced guides who will provide unique insights on the local wildlife. Night walks are also available upon request.

Our spa, compromising of two double treatment rooms, offers a wide variety of treatments designed to balance, restore, and relax your body. Experienced therapists create a natural, relaxing and heartfelt spa encounter. All of our treatments use only the finest natural and organic ingredients to deliver outstanding and long-lasting results. A tranquil and peaceful relaxation area is also available to all guests.

Alongside our spa we offer a fully-equipped fitness room with free weights, benches and barbells, and a variety of cardio equipment. All gym goers are treated to refreshing herbal beverages and fruits, as well as cold, scented towels.

LOCATION & ACCESS

Zannier Hotels Sonop is situated in the Namib desert, 20km from Betta, 250km South from Mariental (2h30 by car), and approx. 500km from Windhoek (5 hours). Zannier Hotels Sonop is equipped with its own landing strip, allowing guests to access the lodge from any African airport with small planes. The nearest international airport is Windhoek Hosea Kutako Airport (about 1h20 away by plane).
