Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for the above-mentioned position to be based in Windhoek. This position will report to the Regional Sales Manager.
Key Performance Areas include, but are not limited to:
- Establish and maintain major account relationships and meet personal sales targets within the full line of products or combination of products
- Effective negotiation and maintenance of Group Account trading terms
- Establish and build strong customer relationships over time that allows for continuity and on-going representation reinforced by sales support / delivery programs, and communications to other relevant departments
- Monitor competitive activity in each account and ensure that appropriate response strategies are formulated and communicated
- Manage and maintain DVC budget per group account
- Develop the picture of success per outlet type within channels (GWL, GWL Liq and Bulk)
- Set up a grid with all key accounts to drive sales and marketing activities within the respective groups
- Develop the On- and Off Trade Group Account plans and targets, and deliver on these with the Sales team
- Develop the in trade execution guidelines for the channel including merchandising and category management principles
- Analyse and evaluate channel and brand performance against account metrics and provide recommendations and insights to the Sales team to improve performance and profitability
- Manage customer budgets in line with growth aspirations and cost parameters
- Build and develop strong internal and external relationships and networks
- Provide leadership and champion relevant account strategies within the Sales team
- Continuously review customer insights and trade innovations
- Review and benchmark: trade spend, alternative business models, planning and execution processes, merchandising and campaign delivery solutions to improve business performance and develop a competitive advantage
- Develop and communicate clear measures and standards of success in terms of timeous execution
Preferable qualifications / experience/ skills:
- A relevant and recognised commercial tertiary qualification would be preferable
- A minimum of 5 years proven managerial and commercial experience with the emphasis on key account management, ideally across a range of categories / FMCG’s
- Computer literacy (MS Office suite; SAP being advantageous)
- A valid Code B/BE driver’s license without endorsements
- Excellent organization and planning skills with the ability to execute multiple projects whilst maintaining high attention to detail
- Sound management, negotiating, analytical and strategic thinking skills
