Namibia University of Science and Technology seeks for an Information Technology (IT) Officer for employment

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Computer Science or a related qualification with at least five years of experience in Server Administration, training/facilitation of IT technical programmes, installing and supporting PC hardware and software, Networking, Database development, Virtualisation, Simulation, Prometric Server, VUE Server and Certiport server. A credible record or working with e-marketing and bulk mailing software, Adobe Suite, electronic surveys, reomote control and remote access. Competence in at least three of the following areas: Content Management System (Joomla); Scripting Languages: C++/VB.net/PHP/Html; Virtualisation and Simulation Environments; Database Languages and Servers: MySQL, Microsoft SQL 2012 and 2016 and Database development and Server Environment: MS Server 2012 and 2016. Competence in IT related Teaching Pedagogy. Proficiency in the following applications: Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe Suite and Databases. Excellent English communication (oral and written), time management, project management and customer service skills. A credible record pf analytical and troubleshooting abilities. A self-starter and initiator with the ability to efectively prioritise and to work effeciently under pressure in a fast-paced, team and deadline-oriented environment.

Job Description

Provide technical and application support to information technology users; undertak special projects; provide guidance to and oversee the daily operations of ICT Support personnel; evaluate and report on new IT technologies; assist in the preparation and maintenance of system and yser documentation and perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor.
