Duty Station: Rundu Vocational Training Centre (RVTC)

Report to:  Head of Trainee Support

Purpose: To provide support to trainees in industry placements including apprenticeship. To plan and coordinate trainee support services.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant National Diploma in Business Administration/Marketing

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION TRAINING (VET) TRAINER: TECHNICAL AND BUILDING DRAWING WANTED (Grade C4)

Duty Station:  Okakarara Vocational Training Centre (OVTC)

Report to: Head of Training

Purpose: To train the trainees in the methodologies of effective teaching in the respective subject matter in order to transfer knowledge and skills to the trainees.

Key Performance Areas

  • Teach trainees in the principles, techniques and processes of training
  • Prepare and present training material to trainees
  • Design assessment tools and administer internal assessment
  • Maintain accurate and complete trainee records as required
  • Responsible for classroom and workshop management; and
  • Communicate effectively with all relevant parties (trainees, management, team members and industries) in all required formats.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant Trade Diploma/Degree in Technical and Building drawings (Completed relevant apprenticeship plus National Vocational Instructor Certificate or equivalent);
  • Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in trade with at least one (1) year teaching experience will be an advantage.
  • An additional qualification in Computerized Aided Design (CADs) & ICT with experience will be an added advantage.

Other Competencies

  • Knowledge of respective subject matter;
  • Knowledge of training principles and methodologies;
  • Experience in developing respective course materials;
  • Experience in workshop management and the maintenance of equipment;
  • Excellent English communication and presentation skills; and;

HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER WANTED (Grade C3)

Duty Station: Eenhana Vocational Training Centre (EVTC)

Report to: Head of Finance and Administration

Purpose: To ensure that Health and Safety regulations are adhered to at the respective Vocational Training Centre.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Technical Infrastructure
    • Carry out regular SHE inspections and audits for compliance purposes
    • Manage VTC NOSA safety management system
    • Ensure compliance to VTC personal protective equipment requirements
    • Ensure that SHE compliance training are conducted and certifications are done in line with legal requirements
    • Responsible for the management and maintenance of the building management software, including regular maintenance and audits to ensure functionality and comfort levels are maintained
    • Ensure adequate building signage is in place to meet all building regulations and OHS requirements
    • Ensure all electrical and lighting requirements are met and maintained on a regular basis
    • Ensure that all fire preventative measures (including fire detection system) are in working order at all times and maintained on a regular basis

Non-­‐Technical Infrastructure

  • Ensure proper and accurate documentation, statistics and reporting
  • Manage and negotiate business relationship with external security services provider
  • Facilitate security oversights at all entry and exit points
  • Liaise with local and area official law enforcement (Nampol, )
  • Ensure that all locations are clean and hygienic at all times and responsible for the management of all sterile services
  • Manage all buildings and facilities to meet all requirements in line with the National Buildings Regulations Act

Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)

  • Take accountability to ensure all OH&S requirements for all locations are met and ensure that all adequate controls, policies and procedures are in place to ensure compliance with applicable law
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure mitigation initiatives are implemented accordingly
  • Ensure that adequate fire wardens and health and safety representatives are in place and receive adequate training
  • Chair regular OH&S committee meetings and ensure minutes are taken and distributed accordingly
  • Ensure OH&S audits are undertaken on a regular basis

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Management
  • Three (3) years relevant experience in Occupational Health and Safety
  • SAMTRAC
