Details of the new Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund (NSFAF) reactivation and award conditions
1. REQUIREMENTS
1.1 Loan reactivation
Definition: Students who repeated an academic year at their own cost, and now want NSFAF to continue with funding after they passed OR students who were inactive for less than two (2) years.
Latest official proof of registration (not mandatory but may be required)
Full academic transcripts/records (all module records from 1st year to date),
Full financial statement from your institution (indicating all payment transactions from 1st year to date).
NB: Students are always urged to reactivate their loans within the first semester.
1.2 Changes of award conditions
Definition: Students changing a field/program of study or Major Subjects or Institution or Country of enrolment; or intended enrolment.
The student`s formal written request to NSFAF (Brief background summary),
The new admission letter,
Latest official proof of registration (not mandatory but may be required)
Full academic transcripts/records (all module records from 1st year to date),
Full financial statement from your institution (indicating all payment transactions from 1st year to date).
Note:
Students are expected to first get permission from NSFSAF before any changes.
Changes made without written approval from NSFAF constitute a breach of contract.
NSFAF reserves the right to approve or reject the requests for changes of fields/program of study, major subjects, institutions, or country of study.
Approvals for new program duration are subjected to the Initial Contract.
1.3 Changes of award conditions due to illness or curriculum change
Definition: Special consideration of repeated studies or reactivation of loan, loan on hold due to illness/medical conditions and/or curriculum change.

The new admission letter,
Latest official proof of registration (not mandatory but may be required)
Full academic transcripts/records (all module records from 1st year to date),
Full financial statement from your institution (indicating all payment transactions from 1st year to date).
In case of Illness: Doctor’s sick certificate, (indicating visit trends)
Doctor’s fitness letter/confirmation (mandatory)
Study deferral letter from the IHE (not mandatory but may be required)
In case of curriculum change: Letter from the IHE indicating the changes of the curriculum. (mandatory)
Note:
NSFAF reserves the right to approve or reject the requests; approvals are subjected to the NSFAF Funding & Debt Recovery Policy, as well as the current special consideration guidelines.
2. GENERAL INFORMATION

N.B Students are urged to find out from their respective institutions, whether their invoices were sent to NSFAF or not.
