NUST Entrepreneurship Week April 2019

Namibia’s youth unemployment rate have increased from 34.32% in 2012 to 45.5% in 2018, the fourth highest rate of youth unemployment in Africa. In keeping abreast with Vision 2030, the Namibian University of Science and Technology (NUST) is driven to empower youth to command 21st century skills, in an effort to combat industry skills mismatch and additionally, to groom youth to become job creators rather than job seekers. As such, NUST through NUST FM has partnered with Wadhwani Foundation, whose mission is accelerating economic development in emerging economies through large-scale job creation. The Foundation’s National Entrepreneurship Network and Global Skills Network initiatives are driving job-creation through entrepreneurship, skills development and innovation.

Our efforts of instilling an entrepreneurial spirit and mindset in our students and on campus, lead to the launch of a ‘Bootcamp’ Entrepreneurship Week, scheduled to take place from the 9 – 11 of April 2019. This is a platform for Namibian university students, to experience various facets of an entrepreneurship ecosystem. Should you require additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us – NUST Entrepreneurship Coordinator: dcarballo@nust.na(link sends e-mail) or +264-61-207 2698.
