NUST welcomes new International Students for the 2017/2018 Academic Year

The Department of International Relations held an event to welcome new international students to NUST. Two Tourism and Hospitality exchange students, Christina Tiefning and Julia Leitner, from Austria, described their experience so far as delightful.

They added that they are pleased by the warm nature of staff and students and NUST.

Another student, Vera Viallinich, a Bachelor of Natural Resources Management Honors exchange student from Germany, said: “It is important to mingle with the University community and not only focus on ‘tourist-like’ experiences.”

In an effort to expose students to global trends and practices, NUST promotes internationalisation through engaging international staff and students.

Marvellous Shilongo, the President of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), welcomed the students and encouraged them to take part in various activities happening on campus. More than 600 students on campus are foreign.
