NUST Vice-Chancellor awards Prof Percy a Professorship Certificate

Prof Percy Chimwamurombe received a Certificate of Professorship, conferred upon him by Dr Tjama Tjivikua, the NUST Vice-Chancellor, at a Professorial Inaugural Ceremony recently.

Prof Chimwamurombe is currently a Professor in the Biological Sciences and the Deputy Head of the Department: Natural and Applied Sciences at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). During the ceremony, he delivered a lecture titled ‘The Microbiology-Indigenous Knowledge Nexus in Climate Change Coping Strategies in Namibia.’

His research interests include the domestication and cultivation of wild indigenous plants; the genetics of biodiversity conservation, utilisation and management; gene cloning and heterologous gene expression systems, amongst others.

Prof Chimwamurombe has published over 90 refereed journal articles and conference proceedings and is a reviewer for 10 international scientific journals and organisations. He is the author of 15 technical and consultancy reports.
