Rundu Vocational Training Centre (RVTC) signs Memorandum of Understating (MoU) with Rundu Town Council

RVTC and RTC have signed a Memorandum of Understating on 02nd of October 2019 at Rundu Conventional Centre. This is to formalise ties between the two institutions.

The event was attended by His Worship the Mayor of Rundu Town, The chairperson of the Management Committee, the Acting CEO of Rundu Town Council, and other staff members of the council, the Centre Manager of RVTC, the Head of Training of RVTC and the Liaison Officer of RVTC.

In his welcoming remarks his worship the Mayor of Rundu Town Council Honourable Kandingu stated that the responsibilities of town development is not only in the hands of the councillors but with every resident of Rundu Town.

“This marriage between RTC and RVTC must be forever, not even death must do us apart. The partnership should not be limited to training only but be extended to other areas of town development” added the Mayor.

In his speech the Centre Manager of RVTC Mr. Kornelius Lukas was so delighted to sign the MoU with the local authority. “This MoU is an official proof of strengthening the relationship between our institutions. It also brings our work in line with Namibia’s Vision 2030.

We are extending it into manufacturing of skip containers to mention but a few” said Lukas.
The MoU covers a range of areas such as job attachment for trainees, using council facilities for training, manufacturing skip containers to keep the town clean as well as skill upgrading for council employees in various trades.

The chairperson of the Management committee thanked the council and the VTC for their initiatives in cementing the relationship.

The agreement will run for five years with high possibilities of extending it for another five years. The event was under the watchful eyes of the media houses like Namibia Broadcasting Cooperation (NBC), Namibia Press Agency (NAMPA), Namib Sun and the Marketing and Communication department of the Town Council.
