Welwitchia University 2020 Registration postponed amid COVID-19 crisis

From the management of Welwitchia Health Training Center;

All Students, Staff, and Stakeholders are advised to take note that all direct contact registration, induction, and classes will be suspended with immediate effect, starting from 17 March 2020.

The following precautionary measures and steps have been initiated with immediate effect:

1. All incoming First Years who were due to register from the 16th of March 2020 are hereby advised to register online by obtaining necessary instructions on the institution’s website www.welwitchia.com.na and those who attend campus registration must ensure they maintain recommended safe distances.

2. All New Enrolled Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur pupils who are due to attend the Induction Classes from the 16th of March 2020 shall only attend from 10am to receive further instructions and information on how to use the remote learning for classes which shall commence online from the 17th of March 2020 until further notice.

3. Supplementary Examinations will be conducted as per examination timetable while making sure that all infection prevention and control standard precautions are observed within the examination venues and entire premises. Please note that all examinations shall be completed in halls with limited number of students and the minimum distance of 2m between individuals as per the WHO guidelines shall be observed. All students who suspect to have been in contact with an infected patient/person are encouraged not to attend and contact our emergency line for alternative arrangements.

4. All New Students and Returning Students at all Campuses are encouraged to consult the website by the 20th of March 2020 for detailed information on Remote (online) registration and learning schedule which shall be
implemented until the 14th of April 2020.

Further, students and parents are urged to ensure that appropriate precautionary measures are taken at home, in line with the directives of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS).

During this period, the Institution shall ensure that upon the commencement of classes, the cleanliness of classes, libraries and other places within the campus are key priority. WHTC shall strengthen the implementation of the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) initiative, ensuring that there is sufficient soap (liquid) and tippy taps available to all students and teachers.
