GENERAL MANAGER: HEALTH SERVICES & SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

(Paterson E2 Band)


Remuneration & Benefits: Minimum (N$ 714 068.00) – Maximum (N$ 966 092.00)
Market related salary package, Medical Aid, Pension Fund, Housing Allowance/Subsidy, Motor Vehicle Allowance, 35 m3 free water per month and 35 working days leave per annum.


Purpose of job: Plan, organize, direct and co-ordinate activities of the Health Services and Solid Waste Management Department to prevent and control physical, chemical and biological factors in the environment that can have detrimental influence on the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities in the Swakopmund Municipal Jurisdiction and visitors to the town.

Key Performance areas: The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

 Top Management Participation (to ensure a professional and comprehensive strategic support to the organisation’s CEO and the senior management team);
 Departmental Strategic Planning, implementation and evaluation;
 Image Management;
 Liaison and Communication;
 Financial Management and accountability;
 Human Capital Management;
 Procurement; and
 Occupational Health and Safety Management (OHSM) at the Workplace.

Requirements: Applicants should have a Grade 12 Certificate (pass mark of 20 points over 5 subjects which must include an E symbol in English); a Bachelor’s or Bachelor of Technology Degree in Environmental Health; Seven (7) years Health Services experience in Local Government of which five (5) years must be as a Manager/Supervisor; a Code B Driver’s Licence and be registered at the Allied Health Professional Council of Namibia.
