Hamburg School Of Business Administration Visits IUM

A delegation from Hamburg School of Business Administration (HSBA), a private business institution in Hamburg, Germany, recently visited the IUM Main Campus – Dorado Park, specifically the Faculty of Business Administration in order to establish international strategic partnerships. The delegation comprised of fifteen students who were in their second and third years of Business Administration Studies and their Professors.

The delegation held a joint session with the IUM Business Administration students and their lecturers. During the session both IUM and HSBA students gave presentations and short lectures on their Institutions. Thereafter, a networking opportunity which enabled students and staff from both Institutions to interact with each other was created. The session was then followed by a tour of the Campus.

The head of the delegation, Professor Dr. Torsten Keller, Course Head for Business Administration at HSBA also had a brief meeting with the Acting Vice-Chancellor of IUM, Professor Kingo Mchombu during which fruitful discussions for future collaboration in various areas of interest and projects between IUM and the HSBA were discussed.

Overall, the visit provided a valuable educational opportunity for IUM students as they got the chance to acquaint themselves with a new culture and language, learn about student exchange programmes, and build bonds with the HSBA visiting students. Through presentations, the students also had an opportunity to observe what they would experience in case they visited Germany one day.

Likewise, lecturers, got knowledge of new perspectives especially on curriculum development, work integrated learning at HSBA, and most importantly, a broader understanding of the German education system and society.
