Human Resources Officer

A vacancy exists for a Human Resources Officer in the HR department. Reporting to the HR Team Lead the successful incumbent will be responsible for all human resources functions, responsibilities and accountabilities at Rössing Uranium. The role requires overall execution of multiple tasks in all human resources activities, and demands high levels of professional acumen, integrity and professionalism. This position involves interfacing with multiple levels within the business unit and requires a high degree of professional focus and attention to detail.

Key performance areas

Maintain and improve safety, health and environmental standards and practices.

Advice various stakeholders on legislative guidelines / jurisprudence, custom and practice and consistency.

Assisting employees and leaders on performance management activities.

Facilitate employee relations and recruitment and selection function for the assigned departments.

Ensure employee relations and recruitment processes are executed according to company policy, workforce plans and legislation by advising hiring managers accordingly.

Drive continuous improvement and benchmark initiatives toward recruitment best practice.

Maintain regular and efficient stakeholder engagements by following up on the services they provide so as not to cause delays in any of the human resources t process.

Ensure that employee personnel records and documents are updated and stored in the right place.

Liaise with Employee Relations section to assist with resolving recruitment related issues.

Maintain document control on all disciplinary dossiers for filing purposes.

Report monthly on all employee relations and recruitment activities.

Maintain comprehensive records as required, and generate monthly reports and statistics on employee relations and recruitment activities. This includes analysing and reporting on the effectiveness of implemented interventions and providing recommendations for improvements.

Initiate and implement cost saving measures aimed at reducing costs.

Minimum qualifications

Grade 12;

B-degree / B.Tech degree in Human; Resources Management / Industrial Psychology with three years’ experience in

Human Resources as a Generalist; OR

A three year National Diploma in Human Resources with five years’ experience in

Human Resources as a Generalist;

post-graduate degree in Behavioural Sciences is an advantage; and

Valid code BE driver’s licence.
