From Tourism to Nuclear Medicine

A new lecturer, specialising in Radio biology and Nuclear Medicine at the University of Namibia, Dr Roswita Hamunyela, says she originally wanted to study Tourism so she could travel the world, but a chance encounter with an application form while cleaningher aunt’s house, put her life into a different trajectory. Now she is one of Namibia’s resource persons in a scarce skills field.

Dr H Hamunyela works in the Department of Allied Health, her areas of expertise are Radio biology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiography and Radiation Technologies. Her current research focuses on the effects of radiation on human health, Medical Imaging research and research on Higher Education Pedagogy.
