Turkey Embassy in Namibia Job Vacancies

The existing friendly relations between Turkey and Namibia dates back to the early 1960’s, when Namibia’s struggle for independence and freedom has begun.

Turkey, since the early 1960’s has closely followed Namibia’s quest for freedom and independence and provided Namibia necessary political and financial support within her capacity, as the “Co-Sponsor” of the “UN Council for Namibia”.

Turkey’s diplomatic relations with Namibia has started on 12 November 1997, after the then Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of South Africa has presented his credentials to the then President of the Republic of Namibia.

Turkey-Namibia relations started to gain further momentum since 4 January 2012, with the commissioning of Turkey’s Embassy in Windhoek.

Namibia does not have an Embassy in Ankara yet. Ambassador of Namibia in Berlin is also accredited to Turkey. Namibia appointed an Honorary Consul in İstanbul since 2010. Namibia’s Honorary Consul is Mr. Hatem Yavuz and based in İstanbul.

The procedures to launch an Honorary Consulate of Turkey in the Namibian city of Swakopmund, with the area of jurisdiction of the Erongo Region has been completed in November 2014. Turkish Honorary Consul Mr. Burhan Seber assumed his duties.
